Con Prepping

IncredibleCon is coming up fast and I’m trying to make finishing preparations for my art table. This is the first time I’ve had a table at a con, so I’m worried about how it will go. I want it to be a success, because it is definitely an expense getting everything ready. I know since a bulk of what I’ll have available is art of my own original characters. That’s an iffy thing. If people don’t like them, or care, this could be a major bust. It’s a risk, but I think my designs are at least cute/cool enough that maybe people will like them even if they’ve never seen them before. I will be promoting this site and the stories I make, so I’m just hoping the designs are interesting enough to hook some people. I will have a little bit of fandom stuff in the form of buttons that maybe people will pick up regardless. Here’s hoping.

I've already made a ton of character buttons.

The biggest expense has been the stickers I had printed. I wanted to make sure I got high quality prints and, even though the price to mass produce them was very reasonable, how much I actually make really depends on how much people think the characters are interesting. I made the stickers chibi to hope to appeal to a wider audience. I mean, even if you don’t know jack about Mixten Genetics (which let’s face it, very few do) then at least some cute monster girl designs might catch some people.

Seriously though…

Look how cute they are! Who wouldn’t want one of these on their laptop or water bottle?!

Regardless, I’m certain I’ll have stock after this is all said and done. There is no reasonable way I’m going to sell out of what I had made. I have seven different 3 inch sticker designs, with 50 copies of each, and 1300 buttons. I’d love to sell out, I really would, but I’m not insane enough to think people will like my stuff that much. Whatever stock I have left from the con I’m going to sell through Ko-Fi. I’ll also eventually add the chibi designs to my Redbubble so people can print them on demand on shirts or as bigger stickers. I’m also going to send a set of buttons and a sticker to each of my Ko-Fi members. I really appreciate all of your support!
