Post Con Wrap Up
<-Two Nerds at their first convention booth.
IncredibleCon has come and gone. I was and interesting experience. I definitely picked up on some things. Admittedly, sometimes I can have time engaging people, specifically calling to people to come take a look at my stuff. A lot of the first day was me just sort of sitting and watching people pass me a sideways glance and keep walking. I’m not shocked about that through.
That first day kind of taught me if I want this to be successful, I have to put myself out there and just try to strike up conversations with passersby. I have a hard time doing that, but I committed myself to it Saturday with the plan to be more extroverted on Sunday… and it worked. I also decided to add one more thing. People love free stuff and after making a grand total of $30 the first day, I decided to just bite the bullet on expense and give stuff away to promote. I started announcing to people who walked by that everyone who came over could take one free thingie.
The end goal of this comic is to create an engaging story with a diverse cast of sexualities, races, as well as differently-abled people. I want it to be a success and if I have to sacrifice some free stuff, then damn it, I’m going to. I’m already considering having another table at a local convention early next year as well as doing IncredibleCon again next year.
Wish us luck!
